  1.  Nationals of countries other than those listed below will need visa to visit Kenya.
  2.  Visa applications of nationals of the following countries will be referred to Kenya. Afghanistan, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Cameroon, Iraq, Jordan, Lebanon, Mali, Nigeria (residing outside Nigeria), North Korea, Palestine, Senegal, Somalia, Syria and Tajikistan
  3. Nationals from the following Commonwealth countries will need a visa to visit Kenya. Australia, Sri Lanka, South Africa (visiting for more than 30 days), Malaysia (visiting for more than 30 days), Guyana, Nigeria, India, Antigua and Barbuda, New Zealand (visiting more than 30 days) , United kingdom, Canada, Ireland.

Nationals from the following commonwealth and other countries do not need a visa to visit Kenya Bahamas, Botswana, Brunei, Burundi, Cyprus, Dominica, Eritrea, Ethiopia, Fiji, Gambia, Ghana, Grenada, Jamaica, Kiribati, Lesotho, Malawi, Maldives, Mauritius, Namibia, Nauru, Papua New Guinea, Rwanda, Samoa, Sierra Leone, Singapore, Solomon Islands, South Africa (up to 30 days stay), San Marino, Seychelles, Sierra Leone, St. Kitts and Nevis, St. Lucia, St. Vincent and Grenadines, Swaziland, Seychelles, Tanzania, Trinidad and Tobago, Tonga, Tuvalu, Uganda, Vanuatu, Zambia and Zimbabwe

  1. At the Mission in Dar es Salaam or any port of entry into Kenya

What Visa is appropriate?

  1. It depends on your purpose of visit. However, in most cases a single entry visa will suffice.
  2.  The cost is US$50 at ports of entry or Tshs 75,000 at the Mission in Dar es Salaam
  3. For double and multiple entry visas the cost is Tshs 150,000 and Tshs 225,000 respectively. For these two categories add Tshs 18,000application fee.

What is the approximate duration to process a visa to Kenya?

  1.  A single entry visa is processed within 24hrs.
  2.  A multiple entry visa takes 46weeks
  3. A referral visa also takes 46 weeks

What Visa is appropriate?

  1. It depends on your purpose to visit. However, in most cases a single entry visa will suffice.

I need POLICE CLEARANCE from Kenya, how do I get it?

  1.  Submit clear certified copies of your current passport
  2. Set of finger prints
  3. Two (2) passport size photos
  4. Self explanatory letter on why you require the certificate
  5.  Cash Tshs 35,000
  6. Takes about 4 8 weeks to process.

Alien Registration (once in Kenya)
Why should someone register as an Alien?

  1. It's a legal requirement, and failure to do so will attract a fine or imprisonment.

Who should register as Alien?

  1. Any visitor to Kenya who is over 18 years of age and if his/her stay in Kenya exceeds 90 days from the date of entry.

What are the requirements for Application of the Alien card?

  1.  The Applicant must have a valid travel documents.
  2.  2 passport size photographs
  3.  Registration fee of Shs 2,000
  4.  Applicant to present himself for fingerprinting
  5.  The renewal fee is Shs 1,000 per year.

How long does it take to process the Aliens Card?

  1.  It takes 5 weeks to process the card.

What is the maximum validity of the Aliens card?

  1. Two (2) years

What happens in the case of losing the aliens card?

  1.  One should apply for a replacement at a fee of Sh 2,000
  2.  Form A1 or A2 dully filled
  3. 2 passport size photographs
  4. Fingerprints to be redone

Can I collect the card for someone?

  1. The applicant is required to come in person for the card or a written authority from the applicant incase of illness.
